Description
This place name comes from the word “frasca”, a mediaeval Latin term for “green branch” frequently used for place names in Tuscany.
Frascaro stands at an altitude of 751 m. a.s.l. and in 1971 there were 90 inhabitants. It is the headquarters of the agricultural community together with S. Pellegrino. This agricultural, relay village took on a bead-like structure along the ancient road to Nottoria.
Its location was related with the road to Pescia and Città Reale, in the Tronto valley.
