Description
Piedipaterno is a small fraction of Vallo di Nera along the Valnerina. The town`s name from "Paterno" and "Footer" word witnessed by sec. XIV, a contracted form of "foot", indicating generally "bottom".
The town, which upon himself the ancient core of a rocky crag, was built originally as a trading village overlooking the castle of Paterno, near one of the few places to cross the Nera River.
The chapel of Madonna delle Grazie is located in the lower part of the country. The interior contains a late Baroque altar of local crafts.
