Description
The Church of San Martino, in the hamlet of Biselli, stands above the entrance to the tunnel on the road to Norcia and Cascia.
It is a small Romanesque building from the 13th century, recently restored, all in the local pink and white stone. The exterior is simple, and the small circular apse has a conical roof; at the side is a small bell gable.
Inside, the walls have fragmentary but interesting frescoes from the 14th century: St. Matthew, St. Leonard with manacles, a “Regina Coeli,” a Deposition, St. George on horseback, St. Martin and the poor man, the face of a blessing bishop, the face of a saint holding a crown, and St. Christopher.
