Description
The Church of San Michele Arcangelo is located in Ceselli, in the municipality of Scheggino.
The apse of the original church (sixteenth century) consisted in the polygonal space belonging to the former bulwark tower, then converted in belfry. The building was later enlarged and the present interior displays a nineteenth century appearance.
On the right wall is a painting from 1664 with Saint Vito crowned by angels. In the space of the apse Crucifixion and Saints (1603) and two frescoes depicting Our Lady with Child. In the adjoining sacristy, remains of frescoes from the first half of the sixteenth century.
On the hill at the north-west, are the remnants of an older church of Saint Michael the Archangel ruled by the Plebato of Civitella.
