On the Campiano Valley engage, at the height of Piedivalle, the Castoriana Valley, crossed by an ancient routes for Visso.

Along the slopes of the valley opposite has developed a system of ancient settlements that included the villas of Collescille, Valle, Acquaro, and Piedivalle, all articulated around the Abbey of Sant`Eutizio, the result of the colonization of the Benedictine places.

This system was organized in a real community, "Guaita of Sant`Eutizio", which survives today in the form of agricultural and community which was once a religious center and cultural, but also economic.

Its commercial outpost, Piedivalle, was in fact a transit point of the mountain routes to Norcia and the Plan of St. Scholastica, where there will be the transumansze of the herds and the substantial commercial trade of wool, salt and saffron, coming from Aquilano to the north.

He was also in relation to importance of these routes, as part of the most turbulent life of established communal autonomy, which took place around the sec. XIII, a transformation of the settlement structure with the fortification of many towns and castles foundation from scratch.

This transformation also involved in the Guaita of Sant`Eutizio, with the fortification of Acquaro and the construction of a tower near Collescille, perhaps on the ruins of a pre-existing settlement.
